I'thousand 100% that someone at MS knows what the credential syntax is needed to connect to their Bone network.

The issue hither is non all Windows 7 versions use or are compatible with a Domain Name. You tin can simply put them in a Workgroup. So if you are in this case, the synthax is the following

For the login: \Username

Countersign     : your password

OK...I'm patently the idiot hither. As i stated I practise no accept a username or password to log into WinTen that I am aware of...maybe I missed that part when I prepare it upward for PIN access...so Now WHAT?

No thing what authentication y'all use it is linked to a user.. Or it wouldn't make sense..

Y'all put your win10 username, the same as you would when you log in on your local calculator (eg. Mark & the pivot or the password that goes with information technology).  If your calculator isn't part of whatever domain,  the syntax becomes like that (eg \Mark for the username ).

If it doesn't work,  check the shared folders all that stuff..  Or fiddle with all that until it works..

With Windows 10, Hold the windows key and striking "r", blazon cmd. in the prompt, blazon    repeat %username%     This will give you lot your username. And the password is the password that is linked to your Microsoft Live account that you setup with windows ten, via an email account.  Y'all can choose on the login screen how to log in, modify it to password instead of pin and meet what happens, once you figure out your password and then it should let you lot in!  if information technology doesn't work, put in a \ before your username and endeavour! Hope this helps someone!!!!

right click on " Network Icon " on the bottom right side normally next to the clock

right click " Open Network and Sharing Centre " (window will appear)

click " Advanced sharing settings " (on the side)

go to " All Networks (tab)" (section)

go to " Laissez passer word-protected sharing " (sub-department)

click on " Plough off password-protected sharing " (circle / radio checkbox)

click on " S ave changes " (done)

THEN....

on your VLC app on your device "close it" or "restart the app" or restart the device or phone

you see information technology WORKS At present !
